Who Does The Center Typically Serve?
While we serve many clients who are several decades out from retirement and are in ‘asset accumulation mode’, we find that most of our clients are over the age of 50 and typically within 10 years of retirement or currently retired.
As we jokingly say, most clients don’t wake up at 5am, jump out of bed and exclaim, “You know what I need to do today? Find a financial advisor!” While we wish this was the case, there is typically a life event or change of circumstance that prompts an individual or family to take action on their financial plan. Great news – we’ve virtually seen it all over the course of our nearly 40 years of serving clients. Whether you’re experiencing a change of employment or buy-out offer, transitioning into retirement, navigating life after a divorce, struggling with how to move forward after receiving an inheritance or grappling with all of the financial complexities after losing a spouse, our team of dedicated and experienced professionals is here for you.
Simply put, The Center specializes in helping you navigate all of the transitions life has thrown, and will continue to throw, your way.
Am I A Good Fit?
Our team is extraordinarily proud of our nearly 99% client retention rate, which hopefully highlights our commitment to long-term relationships. While having initial conversations with you, we’ll want to discuss our philosophies and approach to both investment management and financial planning to ensure The Center is a quality long-term fit for you. Clients we work best with typically possess the following qualitative attributes:
Prefer to delegate financial matters but still wish to be actively involved and engaged throughout their financial journey
Find value in a professional relationship
Are goal oriented rather than having a ‘beat the market’ mindset
Embrace a ‘middle class mind set’ – diligent savers and smart spenders
Over the course of our 35+ year history, we’ve realized that we typically work best with and add the most value to clients who have attained at least one of the following financial milestones:
Net worth greater than $1,000,000
Investable in excess of $500,000
Annual income greater than $200,000
How is The Center Compensated?
The Center primarily works with clients on a fee only basis, meaning our firm is compensated through the investments we manage for our clients. Because of this, in most cases, there is no additional ongoing fee for comprehensive financial planning. While you’ll find that our cost of working together is very much in line with the industry average, our services and depth of advice almost always exceed that of our competitors (at least that’s what we’ve heard from countless clients who have made the change to our firm).
